Usage, Safety & Precaution Guidelines
The Piérre Bébé structured baby carrier is suitable for use from birth (from 3.4 kg) up to 12 kg, while the side baby carrier is suitable for use from 9 months up to 3–4 years (up to 20 kg).
The carrier has been tested and approved according to strict European safety standards.
Safety Guidelines for Using the Carrier
-
Ensure your baby is positioned at the correct height—close enough to kiss.
-
The carrier should be tightly secured so the baby is held snugly against your body, with their arms inside the carrier and unable to shift position independently.
-
Always make sure your baby’s airways are clear and unobstructed.
-
Check that the baby's hips are in the "M" position.
-
Ensure the baby's spine maintains a naturally curved "C" shape.
Cleaning & Drying
-
Wash the carrier separately by hand or on a delicate cycle at up to 30°C (86°F).
-
Do not tumble dry.
-
Dry in the shade only.
Warnings
-
Extra care should be taken when using the carrier with premature babies, low birth weight infants, or babies with medical or respiratory issues.
-
Before first use, it is recommended to consult a qualified healthcare professional.
-
During use, always ensure the baby's face is visible and not covered. Make sure there is at least a finger-width space between the baby’s chin and chest to avoid airway blockage.
-
The baby's head should be close to your collarbone, and their body should be positioned above your navel. If not, the carrier may be too loose.
-
The correct carrier size is determined by the wearer’s body, not the baby’s size.
-
Monitor your baby’s breathing during use. If it is not calm and steady, the baby may be in an incorrect position. Remove and reposition them according to the guidelines.
-
Always ensure the baby is securely positioned in the carrier in a way that prevents any risk of falling.
-
At the end of use, hold your baby firmly before removing them from the carrier.
-
For first-time use, it’s recommended to practice with the help of another adult in a safe environment (such as near a bed or mattress).
-
Wear flat, comfortable shoes while using the carrier to reduce the risk of slipping or imbalance.
Piérre Bébé is not liable for any injury or damage resulting from incorrect use of the carrier or failure to follow the provided safety instructions and warnings.
